A new report based on survey research by the Pew Internet Project and the Monitor Institute, with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation shows citizens who believe they have can impact their community are more likely to be engaged and are more likely to be satisfied with their city. The study also shows individuals who think local government does a good job sharing information are more likely to be satisfied with other parts of civic life such as public libraries, police, fire and other city services. This report even includes a link to a useful Community Information Toolkit to help community leaders assess and improve information access in their communities. Check it out!
