New Notification Requirements for Land-use Application and Zoning Changes

At Yesterday’s City Council Governmental Affairs Committee meeting, City Council approved new notification requirements for land-use application and zoning changes for a 90-day trail period. These new notification requirements would do the following…

  • The City will make it easier to find meeting notices and agendas on nola.gov.
  • Applicants would be required to place a sign on the property.
  • Post Cards will be sent to all property owners and residents within 300 feet of the subject property.
  • Office of Neighborhood Engagement will email neighborhood organizations.

Nick Kindel from the NOLA CPP commented at the meeting that this is a good first step to informing people about what is going on in their neighborhood. He also said that the CPP/NPP will take it a step further. Councilmember Guidry said that these new notification requirements will role in to the NPP.
