At NORDC’s Bylaw Subcommittee on Monday, April 30, they approved a draft Neighborhood Participation Plan for consideration by the full NORD Commission. The NORD Commission heard a presentation from Neighborhood Engagement Office Director Lucas Diaz, but they could not take action on the proposed plan because a quorum was not present. They are expected to take up the vote on the NPP at their next meeting.
The NORDC draft NPP (April 30, 2012) is a basic structure for how NORDC would get more public input. The one-page document does not include many details, as NEO wanted to get the structure approved first. The draft NPP includes a two-tiered structure. There would be a citywide tier to address concerns of city-wide impact, and there would be a 15 neighborhood teams (3 per Council District) that would address local issues that impact one park or a few adjacent parks. For more information, please view the NORDC draft NPP.
